The culprit as to why I've been extra busy and extra stressed!
As you all know, I am currently undertaking Diploma in Mass Communication and as part of my credit hours for the subject Principles of Public Relations, our class is required to organize a Corporate Social Responsibility event.
As such--presenting to you the effort of my PR Class 09; Unveiled:
The WalkAbrella Walk-a-Thon. ;D
What is it: A non competitive walk whilst holding umbrella's
Where is it: Starting point Central Park; round off back of BU 10 and back at Central Park.
What do I get out it: You will be in the running (pun intended), for a title in the Malaysian Book of Records for the most number of participants holding umbrellas for a walk for cause event! We need at least 1500 walkers.
When is it? 6th of December (Sunday)
What time? Registration starts at 7.00
Enterntainment? Aerobics; food and drinks stalls; performance from dance troupes and local bands after the walk.
Why YOU should come? Besides a fun filled half day of healthy exercising and yummylicious food and drinks; held at a beautiful park right in front of 1 Utama where you can do your shopping afterwards-- YOU can make a difference.
The objective of this CSR Campaign is to raise awareness on Cerebral Palsy: a mental condition which affects the motor skills of children--robbing them of their movement. These children are physically limp and are robbed of their lives as normal children. Whilst Cerebral Palsy cannot be cured, various treatments and exercises can help improve their motor skills to some extent.
All proceeds of this event will go to
Pusat Penjagaan Kanak-Kanak Cacat Taman Megah (PPKKCTM) and will help towards their building fund and medical needs. (their current home base is in a housing area and residents are labelling the home as a nuisance as the kids with various ailments here are noisy. The management is currently searching for a new home).
With this in mind, let us all do our part--however little; however much it might be to you and spare just a few hours of your time for this walk. :)
How much?: Tickets are priced at a mere RM 10 which includes an umbrella and goodie bags.
